People live in the Monument Colorado Springs area primarily because the area feels like Colorado. There are towering Ponderosa Pines and views of the United States Air Force Academy, Pike National Forest, and Front Range. The Monument area encompasses two municipalities, the Town of Monument and the Town of Palmer Lake.
